Regarding the Philippines and tea:
My father is from Malabon, Metro Manila. He is a city boy. My mom, on the other hand, is from Abucay, Bataan. She was pretty provincial until she moved to Manila to go to the University of the East a while back. That's where they met. I've been to the Philippines four times. The last time was when I was seventeen. From my first trip there (when I was four) my first memories were of walking in the floods. It seemed like a lot of fun then. But now that I think of it, IT'S GROSS!! Ha ha. Another strong memory I have is of when I was twelve. My father took us to smoky mountain so that we could see the reality some people were and, still, are living. I have had chrysanthemum tea. I love looking at the flower blossoms in my mug. I've heard that it is good for colds. My sister loves pandan tea. We would buy the frozen, packaged leaves in China town, but we just can't find it anymore.
