We get a lot of red tailed hawks here. Or actually dh has spotted
a nest near the house. We've seen one swoop down and snatch an
unwary chipmunk off the rock wall separating the property from
another's. Have also seen one hanging around the little
koi pond looking for sashimi :P. The closest though was when
I went through the front door (I usually go in the back/kitchen
door) and looked to my left to see a hawk within arm's length
hiding in the evergreen tree there. I had put a bird feeder
there so I guess he/she was waiting in ambush. I didn't
want to freak him/her out so I just kept walking :). Happy
hunting!
