Such syncronicity here, Mary - in your life and mine.

I am Directing a performance of a well known Monologue
Play written by Eve Ensler, it is for a fund raiser for groups
to end violence against girls and women.

We did a maskmaking event on Sunday for the women
who will be performing (I call them actor/activists) and
it was really tremendous. I made the masks and spoke
to them as I did so, asking them to use that time to
contemplate the masks they wear in everyday life and
to boldly consider taking those masks off for once
and for all....and to be more of their authentic

self all the time....

The mask. The act. The perfect date. I thought though it was
more because if I made them as comfortable as possible, then they'd
be more likely to show their true selves... and thus I'd know
better what I might be getting into.
