Kathi,
How ironic! I said almost the same thing as you with regards to home. My idea of home is and always will be California, event hough I've lived in FL the last 5 years. Amazing how you can take the girl out of California, but you will never take California out of the girl.
What areas of CA did you live in? I was all over the state in the 28 years I lived there.

"There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic." -- Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale

I often say "I want to go home" and when i think of home i think of California. I lived in the same home that my grandparents built in the 30's the whole time i was in Calif. I was born and raised there. Home is the beach to me--the So. Cal. beaches. The only time i felt at home in WA state was when i was with my children's dad. And that was 19 years ago after spending 15 years together. I don't feel at home where i currently live.
