Mariposa-
Wonderful posting.
We are living in a strange, barbaric time, it seems. How does one live under the constant threat that at any time you may be blown away by an enemy among you? In times like this, almost every stranger seems a probable enemy.
I have a friend (my long-ago therapist, actually) whose son is planning to come live in a kibbutz for a few months. He is of course, worried about his son's safety, but says he's not going to try to encourage him not to go. If you let the bullies affect you, or your life in any appreciable way, then they have won.
Somehow, I never connected snow with Israel.

Hi again Jen,But terrorist incidents here--I think they feel different somehow. All throughout the country the sites are marked, usually with a stone, and even after years, the lighting of memorial candles. It is more about the pain that we encounter with each attack, I think. The actual event--well, there are so many of them here unfortunately...sometimes during particularly bad periods, daily or weekly. A sad statement. ![]()
The terrible thing about forever is that from here to there is a lot shorter a trip than it used to be...Ray Weaver
