Why not write down a lot of those prompts you've come across that you like and stuff 'em in a jar. Then every day, pull one and just write for 10 minutes? You could share it here, that would give you some "accountability".

I've wanted to write for 25+ years but still haven't gotten up the guts to start doing it. I have so many books on writing and journaling (plus tons of blank journals) that it's ridiculous. Part of me is trying to get my head around all the different types of journaling. I'm also a big one for lists, so I'm pondering the huge list of things I want to write about. I don't know where to start. I've been surfing the Internet for days, looking for prompts. I've noted all the various journaling projects mentioned in this group. I feel so overwhelmed. I need someone to "sit me down" and get me to write just a few minutes a day to start - someone who would be willing to spend a month or so being a person to whom I can be accountable - maybe give me a prompt a day to work on.
