Great suggestions, Connie.

An excellent book to start with would be Kay Adams's book Journal to the Self. This is the book I used when I began seriously keeping a journal several years ago. She has lots of suggestions for lists and encourages people to create lists of 100s instead of lists of ten items.By the way, I am a new member, first time posting. My name is Connie and I am addicted to journal keeping, pens, art supplies, visual journaling and collage. I live in Iowa and am also a middle school language arts teacher.

I have so many books on writing and journaling (plus tons of blank journals) that it's ridiculous. Part of me is trying to get my head around all the different types of journaling. I'm also a big one for lists, so I'm pondering the huge list of things I want to write about. I don't know where to start. I've been surfing the Internet for days, looking for prompts. I've noted all the various journaling projects mentioned in this group. I feel so overwhelmed. I need someone to "sit me down" and get me to write just a few minutes a day to start - someone who would be willing to spend a month or so being a person to whom I can be accountable - maybe give me a prompt a day to work on.Any takers?Nora
To hear the sound of the wolf is to experience a singularly moving sensual experience of wilderness. Sound of unreachable quality, seeming weird and inhuman. But not unearthly. For it is of the essence of the creature wolf: of his spirit, his being, his truth. A transcendental song that took form uncounted millennia before time was defined. Something elemental. A living call from the past. A revelation of the very Universe.
