This is very true. I'm one of those. Docs told my mother i wouldn't
make it through the night when i was born (I was born with Spina
Bifida, was operated on, it got severly infected). I did. Said i'd
never walk. Took my first steps at the age of 2 (and i've been klutzy
ever since..heh). Was told i wouldn't make it past 7 yrs of age. Then
14. Then they said i'd never make it past my 20's. Finally they just
threw their hands in the air and said 'okay, we give up'. =)
I'm sure many of us have defied the odds many times. We all seem like
a bunch of stubborn "I'll show you!" types. =)

... many folks out there were told they wouldn't
survive, wouldn't walk again, wouldn't etc... and they defied
the establishment and made it.
And very proud of you going on 2 yrs without SI!
