'Am thankful for...
1. ... heard "Fields of Gold" on the radio while I was on the road
today. Love that song.
2. ... fluffy baby-blue stuffed Easter bunnies (local store already
stocking those so I picked up one for my son).
3. ... a red dawn. I know it's usually a harbinger of bad
weather but it is so lovely to see the eastern sky
in flames like that first thing in the morning.
4. ... the JJill gift card dh got me for Christmas. I FINALLY
had time to walk around the store/mall and got a new sweater and
two new pants. Holding on to the rest of it 'till I see
something else I like on sale a few weeks from now.
5. ... finding someone finally brought back the library's copy
of the DVD "Nicholas Nickleby" (with James D'Arcy).
6. ... I have a 9 yr old daughter who also has a thing for
watching BBC type historical dramas. "Woo! A MOMMY MOVIE!
I'll get the popcorn, Mom, you get the apple juice!"
7. ... Anakin (my now 9 month old manx/persian mix). I got the
kids on the bus then sat at the table to figure out the
prescription part of our new health plan. And Ani refused
to have any of it. 'Sat in the middle of the papers I had
out. I picked them up and moved to the living room... he
followed. Sat on the papers again, meowed at me and butted his
head on my forehead. I sighed, smiled, got my coffee and
journal and sat on the couch and wrote... with a purring Ani
curled up in my lap, happy to be my desk. This cat was meant
for me!
8. ... a glass of red wine at the end of the day.
9. ... the ladies at the orchid nursery near me. We're short
on cash but my mil's birthday is coming up. She'd love even
a little orchid from there so I picked up one called the
Samurai orchid. They're a great bunch of women
and I love how it smells and just *feels* being in there.
10. ... the past week Alex has been going potty all by himself.
1 and 2! I didn't have to remind him and he hasn't run
in there to stim on flushing the toilet over and over again
like he used to. Most, I think, in here know I have an 8 yr
old autistic son who was diagnosed on the regression/severe-side
of the spectrum. It's been an uphill battle the past
5 years but he's finally making steady progress and
*crossing fingers* recovery looks to be in the horizon.

To hear the sound of the wolf is to experience a singularly moving sensual experience of wilderness. Sound of unreachable quality, seeming weird and inhuman. But not unearthly. For it is of the essence of the creature wolf: of his spirit, his being, his truth. A transcendental song that took form uncounted millennia before time was defined. Something elemental. A living call from the past. A revelation of the very Universe.

A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.
