I watched one season of the show. What I really objected to was the pandering to ridicule the in the first half(?) of the season. Even if people want to make fools of themselves, it seems extraordiarily cruel to encourage it.
Otherwise, the show seems to be little more than a high school talent contest minus huge doses of talent.
And I agree with Jill's Mars comment.
