There was the death of infancy. The death of childhood, though the
ghost of childhood still lingers urging me to get my hands dirty, to
play, to drag out my coloring books and my Crayola's and color a polka
dotted dinosaur.
There was the death of innocence, the death of optimism. The death of
of friendships. The death of romances.
There were the real deaths too. The death of well loved pets. The
deaths of aunts. The death of my grandmother.
Then there was the death of my best friend who was barely in her 20s
and even though its been years I'm still reeling from that one.
