Yup, I have a ton of hostas in my backyard, it's very shaded. I also have lots of native fiddlehead ferns, which I love in the cool shady spots. They also self-propogate, so I can dig them up and transplant them and they spread.
I've got a few ideas of what I want in the moon garden, but the challenge will be to plant them where I want to - which is in the back near the new patio area. But - it's mostly shaded which makes flowering plants a challenge. Yikes.

Since I am a night person I did my garden in light colored plants
one because I live in the woods and have lots of shade.
I think hostas will grow in zone 5. Will have to check for more
plants. You can plant annuals and not worry about them lasting
over winter. I love dusty miller but so does rabbits. I use blood
meal around plants I don't want them to eat. but it doesn't stop
the goats. I have one goat that eats seafood. I thought they were
plants only but he's the odd one.
