Ah, New Mexico. A great place. Barb and I bought 11 unimproved
acres northwest of Pie Town about six years ago. It's pretty high
and pretty cold right now. We spend some time there every summer.
We haul a couple of solar panels and batteries up there and live in
our camper. I'm so lucky that Barb is a good sport and willing to
read or gather pine nuts while I play on the ham radio(s). She's a
ham, too, but she isn't as addicted as me.
Snowbird friends spend their winters in Yuma. They'll pack up in mid
May and start migrating toward Las Vegas and spend most of the summer
at Storey Lake. The four of us used to live on the Mexioc border
east of Yuma and we'd cut a rug at the Friday night dances. Man what
fun that was.
What part of Texas did you call home?
