You just sometimes don't have one on hand. I've only like 5 actual bookmarks myself. I use receipts, napkins, starburst wrappers (folded incase of stickness), Um... weirdest though? Flowers. I press flowers sometimes... and they turn into bookmarks with the toilet paper still around the petals.

I can't think of the oddest thing I've used as a bookmark, but coming from someone who has a reasonable supply of designed bookmarks, how come you can never find one when you need one?
