First of all, I have to say (and apologize) that it's
very difficult to talk about Classical Homeopathy (hx)
in terms that someone who is raised in the culture of
standard orthodox western medicine (allopathic), as we
all in the USA are, because the underlying philosophy
is so very different that can sound beyond ludicrous
to people who have not done a lot of study. We
homeopaths see correspondences in cases that
allopathic medicine does not. All authentic
alternative medicine modalities treat individuals not
diseases which is another difference between
allopathic medicine and alternative modalities
including hx. Things that are not explicable or
treatable in the paradigm of allopathic medicine are
perfectly explicable and treatable in other complete
paradigms such as hx and oriental medicine.

In your particular case I would say that hx is very
good at treating things that are unusual. It's also
very good at treating things on the spectrum of what
allopathic medicine calls OCD, where I would think the
symptoms you describe are located (from an allopathic
perspective). To be a bit more explicit, in a
nutshell, I would think the urges and "voices" (I
realize the "dark oily voice" is a metaphor) you have
would be ameliorated, and your attention would be
redirected towards health, happiness and creativity
and away from self-destructive behaviour.

I would also think that oriental medicine,
particularly Five Element acupuncture and/or herbs,
could be a great help but my own bias is towards hx
for mental-emotional cases.

I specifically avoid using the word "cure" for a
couple of reasons. 1 - it's a legally charged word
that is reserved for those with a license to practice
medicine (MDs, DOs) 2 - the wore "cure" means
different things to different people therefore lacks
clarity 3 - and most importantly, no one can "cure"
anyone else, a practitioner can only support the
process of the patient while the patient's own
mind/body/spirit complex heals, or "cures" if you
prefer, itself.

Would you like to do some research for yourself? If
so I can recommend many books. But let me tell you
about my favorite one right now, the very best of the
introductions IMHO is Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky
(www.impossiblecure.com) about how she arranged
successful treatment for her autistic son. It's a
great story and has resulted in the best intro to
homeopathy that I have ever run into. The odyssey of
the path to treatment of her son resulted in Amy, a
NASA researcher and computer scientist formerly,
becoming a Classical Homeopath herself.

I hope this helps. If not, or even if so, feel free
to ask me anything else you like.

Christina
