I can see surprise gifts, surprise parties, surprise proposals,
etc... a surprise marriage is a first :).
I know the appeal of a low key ceremony for just the two of you.
The formal ones seem less a show of the union of two people and
more a big show... and a big headache (at least the ones I've
been to... not including my own... the headaches came after LOL).
And I think it's wonderful and so much more meaningful.
