Me too, loved them.
Although the Pioneer House series (was that the one set on the prairie where the engaged couple actually got married and their honeymoon was part of the show, talk about 'til death do you part') or was it the one set on the remote Texas ranch with the cowboys, ranchers and long-horn cattle drive? Anyway, the Texas ranch one was, by far, the most difficult to watch. Those people truly suffered: bad relationships between the pretend ranch family and the inexperienced cowboys, the cowboys and the cook(s), the rancher and the ranch forman(s), etc. They went through a lot of people. I don't think anybody had any fun on that particular series.
There was a notable difference between the English versions and the American ones that is evident in the two cultures. The English were willing to follow the rules and wouldn't dream of cheating, the Americans: not so much. We're always looking for an easier or more independent angle, aren't we?
