Oh yeah, the good old days when grocery shopping meant actually going to different places and talking to people… Not going to a huge warehouse with bad lighting and the checkout girl barely says “hi” and “bye” with an amount somewhere in between ;o)

Hi Anne, yes I feel the same way about fish eyes etc. Not today, but many many years ago when I was a student at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland I remember passing the butcher shop and the whole row of sheep carcasses in the window and then the row a sheep's heads on the window sill (good for soup). Today, of course, they have the supermarkets we do but it was a shocker to us who were not used to it. Mother had to go the butcher shop for meat, the dairy store for milk, the green grocers for the veggies, the bakery for bread. You carried your own bag and never, never came home without a bouquet of flowers for the table. Cheers Jane
